Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Cough

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Feb 2017
Question: I have a sore throt with a very raspy voice (think XXXXXXX white on a bad day), barking cough without mucus production, and a running nose. The mucus when I blow is starting to become yellow. Yesterday, I noticed that my chest, in my bronchial region, started to burn when I started to take a breath. Should I see a doctor or is it just a cold?

Brief Answer:
You should see a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello

From the symptoms which you have described it looks like that you may be developing a chest infection and may need antibiotics for the same.

It does not seem be just a cold and the infection seems to have spread to your chest. please dont worry as this can be managed with antibiotics.

In the meantime i would like you to take voice rest and not to speak loudly or for a longer time.

I would also like you to start steam inhalation 2-3 times a day. This will help reduce the chest congestion and infection.

Please meet your doctor for confirming this and the prescription.

Take care!
