Brief Answer:
Swollen tongue

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with a sore lip and swelling of the tongue after a viral infection. It is possible that you are having an allergic reaction to something. Since your immune system is a little depleted after the infection you are now reacting to something else in your environment. As a general rule for allergic reactions we recommend an antihistamine. I usually recommend benadryl, zyrtec or claritin. Any of these antihistamines will help reduce the swelling. I would also recommend is you develop shortness of breath or swelling of the throat you may have a more severe allergic reaction and that you need to see a medical provider right away.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
