Suggest Treatment For Small Polyps In Vocal Cords

Question: hello....I have swollen vocal chords -the chinese doctor i saw here in Ningbo China - took a photo and said i have 2 small polyps and i must rest my vocal chords for 3-4 weeks....I am worried about this ...what do you think i should do...?the doctor has given me some medication and said it would settle and go away in time with voice rest....so i can do nothing more but wait and not use my voice......i am worried about the small polypts ....is it normal to have these and expect a full recovery after 3-4 weeks of voice rest .

Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern however I want to assure you that there is nothing to worry as this is a standard way of treatment and generally small polyps get resolved with Voice rest where you are advised not to scream or yell and give perfect rest to your vocal cords.These polyps are benign and non cancerous and don't harm you in any way.
In general small polyps disappear with voice rest only,however if polyps and your symptoms remain,they can be taken care of by a small surgery where these polyps are removed.
My advise  to to you is to abide by your doctor's advice and wait and watch for next 3-4 weeks.
Stop smoking,if you are a smoker.
