Brief Answer:
inflammed sebaceous cyst?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

it sounds like an inflammed sebaceous cyst. Sebaceous cysts may be asymptomatic until they get inflammed. When they do, redness, swelling and pain occurs. Surgical treatment is required but - of course - your doctor should have a close look to establish the diagnosis first.
