Brief Answer:
try melatonin or consult doctor for ambien

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

You have sleep disturbance and you have tried some behavioral modifications as well as OTC sleep aids like diphenhydramine(tyelonol PM, Motrin PM) and benadryl but no relief.

I recommend melatonin. It is a natural hormone and available as herbal supplement. 5 mg 3-4 hours before sleep or you can use controlled release preparation.

Even after using it if no improvement, ambien (zolpidem) will be useful in initiation of sleep. It is prescription drug and you have to consult doctor for the same.

Though you have tried behavioral approach I would still recommend to go through 'sleep hygiene'.
These are some measures called which would help in sleep. You can find the same in below link.

Drinking a cup of warm milk before going to bed helps in 30-40% of patients and they do not need medicines as per my clinical experience.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
