Question: hi doctor,
Most of the the time i am unable to sleep for some unusal thought,Also using too much water not able to control also.Day by day it became a habit without that i am unable to sleep.

Insomnia (sleep disturbance) are of two types:

1. Primary: There is problem of only sleep disturbance and no other physical or psychological problem is there. In this case treatment for sleep problem is needed.

2. Secondary: There is some underlying physical or psychological problem which is responsible for sleep disturbance. In this main treatment is done for underlying problem.

First of all try to follow some measures called 'sleep hygiene' which would help in sleep. You can find the same in below link.

Drinking a cup of warm milk before going to bed helps in 30-40% of patients and they do not need medicines as per my clinical experience.

Hi Doctor,

Since when problem is there?

This problem is from more than a 1.5 year.

How did problem begin?

It was all as usual,even before 2 year i will sleep in a huge crowd also.but
suddenly some imotinal disorderd happen and small habits started begin like praying God,continous hand wash and now it became so horrible and for this i am not able to sleep,by controling myself somewhat it gone but not fully.

What unusual thoughts are there?

Evrytime i am feeling like my hands are not cleand.if I am having nonveg then i will feel like may be some stain are there still everywhere and i need to wash my hands continously and for this repeated action whole night will go like that.Also some time its releated to sex.

No,Only unusal thought are comming and making me to wash hands and doing some repreted action before sleep.

- How much water do you drink for sleep?

1 glass,if i am taking more then then repeatedly want to go for urination.

- What is problem in sleep? Initiation difficulty, break up sleep or early morning awakening?

If i will sleep then gud sleep or else full night wakeup.
now a days mostly 2 oclock sleep happening and waking by 6.Very critical is washing my hands again and again and also too much using water for cleaning purpose which cause so much body pain.

Thanks for clear answers.

Your history almost confirms that you are suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It is very common psychiatric disorder and absolutely treatable condition.
Treatment includes both medicines and behavior cum psychotherapy. In medicines SSRI group of drugs are used in higher dose and few weeks are required to improve. In psychotherapy I prefer CBT- Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

You need to consult psychiatrist personally for treatment as soon as possible without any hesitation.
