Suggest Treatment For Sinus Tachycardia
Question: hello. I am 17.5 weeks regnant with inappropriate sinus tachycardia, RA, and HTN. I just had an echo which indicates trace mitral regurg. This is new. My last echo was normal. I have been having increasing episodes of palpitations, fatigue, and shortness of breath. I am going to tell my Ob and I see my cardiologist in about 2 1/2 weeks. I need to know if i should be concerned, if this is a physiologic change related to the pregnancy, and anything else that I should tell my dr's.

It is a concern that you have been pregnant and also have been detected with MITRAL REGURGITATION on echo studies, which i am not sure if you were aware of earlier or not.
It is necessary that you need to be evaluated for your stroke volume as you have been experiencing increasing breathlessness and shortness of breadth which is an ominous sign of heart disease in pregnancy. This is definitely not a physio logical change of pregnancy an is definitely pathological.
The symptoms shall progress with increase in gestation , hence quantification has to be done. Moreover you suffer from hypertension as well , which puts you in a high risk pregnancy group. Ideally you shouldn't have been pregnant as it shall cause increased chances of morbidity for both mother and the child.
Vsit your physician soon for a re-evaluation and in my opinion, the pregnancy should not be continued ahead.
