Question: I was running and tripped over my dogs leash. Hit my lower jaw on the pavement and side of my head . Seeing the dentist today as upper teeth feel malaligned.. However I feel like I am having a some shortness of breath. Should I see a MD too?the fall occurred about 32 hours ago. I am 54 and 140 lbs 5ft 2.. Thanks

As per your complain if your upper teeth feels misaligned the cause might be either due to fracture in teeth secondary to physical trauma or there can be fracture of the alveolar process of jaw bone that holds the roots of teeth, for confirmation you need to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a full mouth X-ray known as ORTHOPANTOMOGRAM (OPG) can be done to rule out the exact cause of misalignment of your upper teeth and treatment can be done according to the cause..

Shortness of breath seems to be due to mild concussion due to head injury and you need to consult a Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and if required a CT Scan or MRI Scan can be done to confirm the cause that whether there is any Traumatic injury to brain or not so that if required treatment can be done accordingly..
