Brief Answer:
No need to treat shivering

Detailed Answer:
Hi...greetings from XXXXXXX

By what you quote your kid seems to be having a viral illness. Shivering is quite common phenomenon with fever. But 99.5 F is not fever at all. Fever should be treated only with Paracetamol. Please do not use Meftal-P. It is not recommended. It will do more harm than good. I have published a work in a renouned medical journal in XXXXXXX regarding Meftal-P (Mefenamic acid). Please find the link below to go through it.

Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
Meftal-P contains Mefenamic acid which is a NSAID. It carries the risk of gastritis and renal problems in the long run. Please do not use Meftal-P.

Regarding shivering - it is body's physiological response to mild raise in body temperature. It usually happen when you do cold sponging for fever. You need not treat shivering.

I have a few questions for you -
1. How many days of fever is it?
2. Apart from shivering what other symptoms does she have?
3. Is there any burning sensation or pain while passing urine?
4. Is there any pain in the tummy?
5. Is there a malaria endemic going on in the area you reside?
6. Did you do cold sponging for fever and after which this shivering started?

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. Wish your kid good health.
