Question: Thank you. Am a 60 year old male, great shape, work out 5 days a week (my entire life), 6 ft, 190 lbs, 34 waist. I have been experiencing a sharp, localized, pain (stinging) just in the lower arch of my right pectoral muscle. It happened about 2 weeks ago (on and off for about 2 hours). It started up again about 30 minutes ago. Each occurrence last for about 4 to 6 stinging "pulses". Not sure what else to say. Don't want to overact and run to the Doc. Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
It seems musculo-skeletal; take oral analgesic;find over the counter.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.

Now, you say that you are feeling this sharp, localized pain (stinging) in the lower arch of your right pectoral muscle for about 2 weeks (on and off).
This pain has started 30 minutes ago, and you have only been massaging the area, but still coming back.

As you say that you are otherwise healthy and in good shape; the pain you are feeling seems to be muscular-skeletal to me. Take an over the counter analgesic (arthritis meds like ibuprofen or mixed paracetamol with naproxen or other you find over the counter).

Do you feel the pain is more intense when inhaling/exhaling? if you eat something, is the pain appearing more intense?

If the pain won't subside, then, should go and see your doctor immediately. Further evaluations should be done to rule out cardiovascular or respiratory issues.

Even in case the pain will subside, as this has been going on for 2 weeks now although on and off, at your age further examinations should be followed.
Unless, you have had any cardiac or overall health check up recently.

Hope this helps.
Wish fast recovery.
