Brief Answer:
see doctor if it recurs

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There are many things that can cause brief sharp pains in the head. Muscle spasms or nerve irritations are common.
If you have other symptoms such as weakness, loss or coordination or speech problems then you need to see a doctor immediately. If those things happen then going to emergency would be the best thing.
If those symptoms do not occur but the pain comes back over and over then you should make an appointment and see your doctor.
If it is a one time occurrence and there are no other symptoms then I would not worry about it.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
