Suggest Treatment For Severely Painful Swelling And Yellow Skin Around Labia
Question: On Thursday I had sex, afterwards I was hurting and aching, the next day it felt like a cut on my right vaginal lip. I thought it would get better, but now I'm in agony with swelling and the whole entrance is yellow, hurts to urinate and discharge from uretha and vagina. Could this be an infection from the cut? I was screened a few weeks ago and came back all clear. Obvious I need to see my doctor but as its bank holiday weekend I can't get there until Tuesday. If so, is there anything I can get over the counter to help with the infection until I can get antibiotics?

Based on your description , its most likely an infection. An internal exam/evaluation along with a vaginal swab should be done before initiating treatment. Adequate lubrication should be insured once the hurt area heals. Intercourse should be avoided in the meantime & local hygiene should be maintained. If the problem recurs or has been recurring then dryness due to excessive soap or cleanser use on the area then these should be avoided. Estrogen creams can be advised if the local exam findings indicate so. Cold ice packs and cool Sitz bath can be used as measures at home to have pain relief. Local hot fomentation is also useful in pain relief and increasing blood flow to the wound/cut. Local triple antibiotic ointments commonly used as part of first aid can be obtained over the counter and applied on the area to prevent / treat any infection.
