Suggest Treatment For Severe Vertigo And Tinnitus

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Feb 2016
Question: Hello,

About a month ago I was experiencing vertigo that was very dibilitation for about a week. A doctor gave me some antibiotic drops which seemed to make it a bit better, although it was still present when I lay down.
I am also having intermitant tinitus in both ears and sporadically some pain.

A couple of days ago I was doing a yoga pose and my head was tilted. After this, I felt very dizzy for a few hours and then the next day the dizziness went away completely. (For the first time in approximately 2 months)

Now, I noticed some pain in my right ear and a fluttering sound, espically when I clench my jaw. I decided to shake my head as I would if there were water in my ear and the fluttering stopped.

I have an appointment booked with a specialist for April. Should I seek out advice priviately before then? Or just wait a few months?

Do you have any advice on the possible cause?

Thank you

Brief Answer:
ENT examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

I understand your concerns and I shall try to address them at my best.
Though at one point, the symptoms of vertigo with tinnitus appears to be related to ear pathology which is further supported by the history of dizziness and ear pain, but the variability of the symptoms in different time frames,do not appear to localize them to any particular disease pathology.

However, I am of the opinion that a physical examination by an ENT specialist must be conducted to rule out an ear pathology.

If you have any further questions, I shall be glad to have you in follow-up .
