Brief Answer:
Stomach cramps possible infection

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM

I am sorry to hear that you are having diarrhea problems with cramping and bloating. There are several causes of abdominal bloating and diarrhea. I am concerned for you at this time because it sounds like you are possibly having a blockage. This is a serious condition and I recommend that you seek medical attention tonight.

If this is not a blockage then you could have a bowel infection. If you have been on any antibiotics or have been in a nursing home then you could have clostridium dificile. This infection is also serious and requires a prolonged course of antibiotics. This also needs to be seen tonight so you can get appropriate treatment right away.

I am glad to hear that you are drinking electrolyte solution to replace the fluids you are losing with diarrhea. If you can't be seen in an ER tonight then continue with the fluids to prevent dehydration.

I would also recommend that you not eat the yogurt. Sometimes milk products can make the diarrhea worse. The most important thing to drink fluids.

I seem to have slowed down on diarhhea but would like suggestions of safe items to eat. Please.

I feel very weak and would like to try something in my stomach.

Swelling in abdomen has gone down and very little pain - just soreness in stomach area to touch.

Brief Answer:
Bland foods

Detailed Answer:
I am glad to see that you are not as sick today and that the diarrhea has improved and the bloating has improved. From this I feel safe to say that you do not need to seek medical attention.

You are more concerned now what to eat. I recommend to start with is Jello or chicken or beef broth. If you can tolerate these then advance to Rice and toast. Once you can eat these foods then you can proceed with what ever you like. I just don't recommend diary products while having diarrhea as there can be a short period of lactose intolerance. Once your GI tract is stable you can eat what every you like.
