Brief Answer:
Benefits vs Risk should be discussed with your surgeon...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry to know about the difficulties you face. Every treatment in medical science is based on benefit vs risk ratio. Yes, post knee surgery period may not be entirely comfortable, however if your doctors decide to operate then benefits may far outweigh risks of complications.

With the latest technologies available, post operative pain complications are tolerable in most cases. So in my opinion you should be worried about pain. Moreover You should discuss about other risks involved with your surgeons which will allow you take an informed decision.

I hope this helps you

Regards
