Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Shoulder Blade

Question: I had a lumbar puncture 4 hours ago. This is the2nd one this week. The one they did on Wed they were not able to get enough CSF. I did fine after the first one. But today I am having severe pain between my shoulder blades. Brief history. LP was ordered for vision loss.

I read your question and i understand your concern. pain between shoulders followed by a lumbar puncture is normal sequelae and should resolve with slight use of pain killers and some rest. Wait and see . As far as the CSF and its outcomes are concerned that will depend on the report. Right now no worries, just take some advil or lortab which you are already on and use some heat. If the pain persists get it evaluated for other causes as Lumbar puncture may be an incidental one.
