Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: I have a shooting pain in my left buttocks. Cannot walk or put weight on left leg. Pain seems to go away after some painful exercise. What could be the problem? Also experiencing increased frequency of urination. Any connection between the two?

Brief Answer:
Spinal cord and radicles involved

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message.
I think I can help you.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible spine relaTed problem.
The pain as well as urine complaints are mostly related.

I think it would be prudent to consider an MRI LS spine.
Till you get the MRI, tab pregabalin 75 mg at bedtime MAY help .

You may need to meet a neurologist for your problem.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal

I have recently done a great deal of yard work - pulling weeds, trimming, taking and bagging. With this additional information, could it be possible I merely pulled a glute muscle? I just began taking Aleve and am sitting on an ice pack. If I have a pulled muscle, how many days should pass before I consider a doctor appointment and an MRI?

Brief Answer:
3 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am quite certain it's not a pulled muscle.
If it's that 3 to 7 days should be enough.
