Question: Brought my wife home hospital friday pm after knee replacement. she has methadone 5mlg on hand with instructions to take 1 per 12 hrs. the prescription they gave her for percocet 10 the drugest would not fill.
she in in a lot of pain starting 4+ hrs after methadone tablet.
Can I give her methadone every 6 - 8 hrs until locating DR tomorrow ?

Methadone is very much stronger than percocet and it is MUCH longer lasting. It is often given ONCE a day. You should get advice from your doctor on how much to take but certainly taking the same amount of a longer and stronger drug (methadone is longer and stronger) will be dangerous.
