Brief Answer:
can be suddenly stopped

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Summary: (1) can be stopped suddenly, should let doctor know of problems occurring
(2)Since TIA is unfortunately associated with a risk of major stroke, may need an alternative

It is not a drug associated with tolerance (body becomes used to it and needs more and more to work) or dependence (the body system starts to rely or become addicted to it).

This means that it can be simply stopped suddenly if this needs to be done but it would be best to discuss this with your doctor.

TIA is unfortunately associated with a subsequent risk of a follow up major stroke but this chance is significantly reduced if the risk factors (high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, inactivity, overweight/obesity) are treated.

You can stop it if it is causing you problems. There are alternatives that you may be able to tolerate better- fluvastatin, pravastatin, rosuvastatin

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
