Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchy Red Rashes
Question: have a horribly itchy rash on my right are. and it seems to be spreading - its driving me crazy. keep using over the counter ant-itch medicine, they only help for a little while
The dark spots were once red, then turned brown as them seemed to heal, and the red areas are new spots that now itch - HELP - I can't take this constant itching. The creams only work for a little while then it itches again. What is this?!
Took some PROMETHAZINE a few times, cuz i had that in the medicine cabinet and read it is good for allergic reactions -doesn't seem to help, don't know if its making it worse. So confused.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Your history and images are suggesting acute allergic reaction. It could be due to any cause like food, insect bite, dust, etc. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:
- Cetirizine one for now to deal with itching & then one at night for 5 days.
- Wash/change your bedding & clothing thoroughly.
- avoid scratching much else it will leave scar.
Hopefully you will see improvement with itch in 4-6 hrs BUT whole recovery may take few days. If condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital for i/v steroid & antihistamine management.
