Question: My husband has a small itchy rash on shaft of penis. The only thing different he has done lately has been to swim at our pool twice and noticed it shortly afterwards. I am pregnant and we have not had sex for awhile and no he is not sleeping with anyone else. It does not have my vesicles of clusters of. Could it be a reaxtion to the chlorine or heat? No history of STDs in either of us

I am sorry to hear that your husband is having a red itchy rash on his penis. This maybe a condition called Psoriasis of the glans. It is a skin condition only found on the penis. It causes a red rash that can be painful or itch. It is not a STD. To control the rash I usually recommend using an OTC hydrocortizone cream once to twice daily for 1 week. Then only as needed. If the rash does not respond he may need to see his medical provider for higher strength steroid cream.
