Question: Hello Dr,

About 2 months ago, I starting having severe itching at the back of my upper arms which resulted in hard and black patches over time and sometimes would result in small sores depending on how hard I scratched. I started using hydrocortisone cream which has really helped reduce the itching and the hard patches. I had hoped that the itching would have stopped completely by now but it still hasn't. What do I do pls?

Brief Answer:
Please upload images.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern.

I can guide you better and offer precise therapeutic options if you can upload the images of the residual black patches.

This can help me to formulate an accurate hypothesis.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Post inflammatory scarring-Will resolve with medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern

I have gone through the images as well.

You seem to have residual post inflammatory hyperpigmented scarring.

This will certainly resolve with a combination of topical steroidal creams and antiallergic medication.

I generally prescribe my patients topical creams of Kojic acid, Ivarest(helps you to prevent scratching) and hydrocortisone. Since you are already using hydrocortisone, I advise you check with your doctor if he shares my view and if can prescribe the remaining two to you.

You should be fine soon.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Hi, I have bumps on my scalp that itch a lot. These bumps come and go. Sometimes they are there for 2-3 days and sometimes they diasppear in few hours. But they cause discomfirt and severe hair loss. Initially they started as harmless small bumps and over few years they have taken this form. Doctors gave me shampoos and local applications - which did not help even a little. I have used oils like ashtabringhandri tailam etc. The itching reduces when my hair is wet or oiled for sometime, but comes back again within few hours. I have stopped using shampoos with chemicals and hair colour sometimes for a month or so, but still the bumps keep coming. Some shampoos have an aggavating effect, (Shampoos like Johnson Babies, Head and Shoulder etc produce more bumps and itching) some have no effect (shampoos like dove - results in neither increase nor decrease of bumps). I am 47 year old, female, not diabetic, over weight, on a break from work and hence not stressed (Currently). I have no other problem except severe itching, bumps and accompanying hair loss. the bumps are mostly on the back of my head and sometimes on the crown. My hair falls off like as it it is too weak to stick on to my scalp. It falls in long strands, many many at a time thruout the day but my pillow does not have any hair fall sign when I get up... I feel I need to take some medicines internallysince this is an infection....

For months now, my cleavage has been itching on and off. I have been using the same soaps and perfumes for years now. So it cant be allergic reaction or can it? Im pretty well off with my immune system. Im 26. Also I noticed a week ago these small clear like fluid blisters forming on the sides of my breasts, next to large red bumps. No open sores or anything. It was just weird. The itching is unbearable, and its freaking me out. I also found out that breast cancer and heart failure, (problems) run in my biological side of the family, in only the female side. I found this yesterday evening. Which didnt put any ease in my thought process. Is this a form of cancer to have itchy breasts like this? Especially when its been a year with this horrible itchiness?
