Brief Answer:
Give her promethazine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

In case promethazine is not used please use it before going to prescription medicines. For a well built lady 25 mg will be adequate dose.

In case this has been already tried I request you to get prescription for Ambien 6.25 mg fr sleep problem.

I hope this answers you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

Is there a name that this drug is known by? A brand name or common name?
Could she be deficient in a mineral or vitamin that would cause the same symptoms as insomnia?

Brief Answer:
It comes with phenargan as brand name

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

The promethazine comes with trade name phenargan and can be purchased without prescription.

Regarding your second question I think this is quite possible as electrolyte disturbance can cause sleep problem.
For confirming this you can go serum electrolytes report from nearby laboratory.

I hope this assists you further.
Thanks and regards.

I asked about phenergan and I have to have a prescription for that medicine. There is no OTC that has that as its ingredient.

What else do you suggest. I cannot get this until I get her to a doctor .
It is considered a narcotic/ controlled substance.

Brief Answer:
It is OTC in my country

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I am sorry to know that phenargan is considered under banned medication in your area although it is considered OTC in my area of practice.

The another option from same category is AVIL or pheniramine. It is again 25 mg and I have checked that it is OTC in USA.

I hope this answers you.
