Question: I am experiencing outer hip pain. I feel it most if I lie on either side when I am sleeping. It is relieved when I lie on stomach or back. When I am sitting, walking or jogging, I do not feel pain rather a dull sensation. What am I experiencing and what are some home remedies? Thank you so much for your expertise.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the hip that you are feeling is likely to be a muscular pain or due to arthritis. It can also happen due to decreased calcium or Vitamin D3 levels. A few simple blood tests will help in detecting the cause.
For pain relief you can take mild pain killers and anti inflammatory medicines. Apply over-the-counter pain creams. Creams and gels available at the drugstore may provide temporary relief from pain.
Take diet rich in calcium, vitamin d3 and minerals.
Do hot fomentation to decrease the joint stiffness
Hot bath of Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) will also help -Magnesium has both anti-inflammatory and anti- arthritic properties and it can be absorbed through the skin.
I hope this answers your query.
