Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache Caused By A Sinus Infection

Question: Are these headaches/throbbing related to sinus infection I had a month ago?

End of October I had Sinus Infection. 2nd week of November, no more sinus infection. I felt fine. However, I had ear pain. Was told it was the eustachian tube blocked. Mid November no more ear pain.

Early December I've been having a dull ache around the head. Sometimes throbbing. Sometimes feels like pressure. It comes and goes, changes locations. Right now it is mostly top of head and back of head near the ears. Could this still be the sinus infection?

Brief Answer:
Appears like migraine.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details. The headache description now appears more like migraine. Typical sinus symptoms include nasal congestion, blocked nose; and the headache is mostly located in front of head or face, and it increases on bending forwards.

You could take naproxen tablets for relief of headache.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
