Brief Answer:
You are in the recovery phase.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HealthcareMagic.
I can understand your concern.

By your history and description, you are mostly in the recovery phase.

Just do the following things for this dry cough:

1. Drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself hydrated.
2. Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
3. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid hard to chew food.
4. Take an antihistamine like levocetirizine 10mg or fexofenadine twice daily.

Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 4-5 days.
You have not mentioned about your medicines.
Please let me know if you are taking any medication or not.

I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.

Thanks for answer Doc Bhavsar,

I drink a ton of water and tea and I go to the bathroom 20 times + a day.

I take cough medicine at night with some codeine.
some candies for the cough during the day which usually doesn't help. The cough hurts sometimes because it's a hard cough if you know what I mean. Fatigued a little as well. Anything else you would like to ask me? Thanks

Hi DR Bhavsar,

Yes I am worried but that's my nature.
I don't smoke and never did and run every other day. Cough is mostly dry now with some green occasionally.
I am taking cough medicine at night " Ammonium Chloride Diphenhydramine HCI " I'm not in the US so that's why I wrote the name.
I sleep like a baby now , the problem is minutes after I wake up since last Tuesday. 10 days. Waiting for your as always wise response:).

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should take combination of chlorpheniramime, caffeine and paracetamol.
Paracetamol will act as anti inflammatory drug and it is very important in dry cough.
Chlorpheniramime and caffeine are cough suppressant.
It is also advisable to take drugs according to your weight.
If you don't take drugs according to your weight, therapeutic level can not be achieved and hence symptoms persist.
So please let me know
1. Your weight
2. In which place you are at present?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
