Actually my nephew who's 4 years now has been suffering from allergy cough since he turned 2.5 years. Cough seems to increase in the night times and once he start coughing he takes out all the food from his stomach. My sister has taken him to many doctors and he has been given many medications but of no use. He's even been given steroids, Huff puff, antibiotics which are of no use. He's always with running nose, chest congestion, sometimes even fever. It's become sleepless nights for my sister and brother-in-law. They are really worried. They have taken him to allergy centers, therapies not a single thing they haven't done. please suggest what to do for his condition for he always on medication. Waiting for valuable suggestions

Brief Answer:
Intranasal spray and anti-allergic drugs should be started.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HealthcareMagic.
I can understand your concern.

As per your history and description, your nephew is mostly having allergic rhinitis and asthma.

Best treatment of allergy is identification of allergen and if possible complete avoidance of it.
So avoid common allergens like dust, mites, danders, pollens, chemicals, pollution etc.

Intranasal spray containing steroid (fluticasone) should be started.

Oral combination of antihistamine (levocetirizine or fexofenadine) and anti-allergic (montelukast) once a day at night before sleep will also be helpful.

Please let me know the name of inhaler he is using.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing your nephew a good health.
Thanks.
