Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Runny Nose

Question: Hi got the cough, runny noise since last Frday night/Saturday. Since Sunday the mucus was first Rusty looking then green. Went to the doctor last Monday and was given cerozim 500mg and bisolvin. I since had chills and fever bout of cough which last a while. This evening went back to doctor who told me he will have to treat as asthma. He gave injection which he said was predisolone 100mg, nebulizer for 15mins. After examination again there was still this rattling noise in my chest and cough when told to breathe. Was sent for chest xray. Was ginen a letter to take to hospital query pneumonia. Was told to do so within 24hrs. Bit reluctant as service there is poor. I am home but still have bouts of cough when I am active or exposed to air condition. I also notice my chest in the region of lungs are painful during cough. But I am much better than earlier today. Sweating a bit though

I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the x ray image you have attached.
Sorry to say but this picture is very dark so exact diagnosis is difficult to made for me.
But your symptoms like cough, rattling sound from chest (crepitation), chest pain on coughing (pleurisy) and fever with chills are more suggestive of pneumonia.
You have given cefuroxime which is broad spectrum antibiotic. And you are improving with it, so continue this drug for 1 week.
Better not to take steroids as steroids can worsen pneumonia.
Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep your self hydrated.

Hi thanks for your response. Actually only felt some improvement after prednisolone injection and nebulizer. Before that was getting worse each day. Antibiotics will finish tomorrow.Chest hurts when i cough. Will try to upload another of xray
