Suggest Treatment For Severe Bruising On The Legs And Arms

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Apr 2017
Question: I'm a 30 year old male and recently have been noticing multiple bruising on my legs and a couple of bruises on my arms and I'm not sure how it happened. I also have been noticing light pain in my joints and bones throughout my body that come and go throughout the day and only last for a a few seconds to a minute at a time. No other symptoms are present. I do work out allot so that could explain the bruising but I'm not 100% sure. I'm currently taking 20mg Paxil a day and I do have a few alcoholic drinks a day with dinner.

I decided to go to the Doctor and he told me not to worry about the bruises. I forgot to mention to him about the pain. I asked him to perform blood work. The CBC with diff results came back normal in range. I am still worried though what it could be and am worried that it could be cancer or something serious. Any thoughts ?

Brief Answer:
Please see the detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.
Please don't worry. Based on your history and lab data I think that these symptoms could be as a result of paxil side effects and not related with something serious or cancer.
You should know that paxil could have as a side effects unusual bone pain or tenderness, swelling or bruising.
Discuss about this possibility with your treating doctor.

I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Regards.

Thank you! One more question. Can a multivitamin, male libido pills, or Paxil alter the results of a blood test ?

Furthermore, it is known that drinking alcohol can increase some of the side effects of Paxil as you have. So, I'd suggest to stop drinking alcohol during this time and to discuss this with your doctor.
