Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that his symptoms could be related to an inner ear disorder or cervical chronic backbone (also called cervical spondylarthrosis), which is very common in patients suffering from arthritis.

Both the above mentioned conditions are benign and are not a matter of concern.

But there are also possible conditions like transient ischemic attack that can not be excluded.

Coming to this point, if the problem repeats, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, coagulation tests, PCR, sedimentation rate, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests).
- a cervical spine X ray study
- a brain CT scan study may be needed.

Meanwhile, I would recommend continue his therapy and take plenty of fluids to stay well hydrated.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
