Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: 4 day of abdominals pain. Started in upper to middle abs. Than went to lower abs and this morning back to upper. But last night went to upper chest beneath breast bone and throat but that felt acidity. I think Tums helps sometime. Have loose stools and diarhea now. But I gave my shelf some water enamas. No fever no vomiting except onetime I drank a super green juice and it came right back up
Don't feel right. !! I have been eating a lot of sushi lately but at very reputable places and I always eat sushi. Have been going to new farmers market and they only use fish fertilzer. I do not always wash my beets throughly and i eat them raw!, new thing. Also about a week ago I had one bout of small uncontrollable diahrea so did my daughter she pooped her pants a little and she's 16. She is feeling fine though. Also have some gas and belching. Not excessive but doesn't really relieve pain just took Tums and pain feels somewhat better but last time I took Tums only lasted an hour with some decrease in and pain. No. Real localized pain ! no pain localised in right or left quad. I have had lower back pain weeks ago on both sides but figured I just was getting my period and that went away. Blood cholesterol and triclycerides are awesome I am in shape and incredible healthy eater. I uses to drink a lot of wine years ago now very infrequent.
And lastly I had intense pain about 6months ago in right or left quad but went away.

Brief Answer:
Looks o be Gastroenteritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read and understood your and your daughter's problems.
From the history this looks to be a case of gastroenteritis.
I would advise you the following:
- Get the tests of Blood, urine and stool.
- An ultrasonography of the abdomen.
- 5 day course of an antibiotic, Metronidazole, activated Charcoal tablets, probiotics, PPI like Pantoprazole and symptomatic and supportive treatment as may be advised by your Doctor. Doctor's opinion is very important for the following reasons:
- The Doctor will have a clinical evaluation and physical examination which gives lots of information and correlation with each other and the investigations and response to the treatment.
-You need a valid prescription of a Doctor.

If you get a full response, nothing more needs to be done.
If there is no complete relief you may need an opinion of a Specialist and may be further test.

I hope this answer helps you. Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Thank you
Would penillin be an antibiotic I could use IF I was diagnosed with gastroenteritis?
Or are there any natural remedies? Could this heal on its own if I let it be?

Tomorrow will be day seven actually with adominal pain. my urine looks dark reddish but ate so many beets. Waiting for that to pass.

Upper abs feel dull constant annoying pain ! skin is itchy now , I don't see any yellow in my eyes but àbdominàl pain feels little worse when I walk. CBC 2 months ago Was normal. Could there be something wrong with liver or spleen? Year ago my liver enzymes where all normal. Could my past be catching up with me. could this be drug related never take meds usually, took baby aspirins For a few weeks for headaches and few ibprophens . found out needed a root canal so took pain pills I think codeine with actemine or vicoden one made me sick so she gave me another one not sure the order. Couldn't be anything else? Hoping not!!!!!

Brief Answer:
Penicillin is not good of GE and no natural remedies.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Penicillin is not the antibiotic of choice in Gastroenteritis.
Natural remedies will not cure the problem, but helps. Take Yogurt/ curds and bananas.
This may not heal on its own.

If there is itching, please get Liver function tests done. Also get CBC, Urea, creatinine and Send urine for analysis including that for Bile salts and pigments.

Get proper medications done.
