Suggest Treatment For Sever Pain In The Jaws

Question: I had a front upper tooth removed last Friday. I had had a lot of infection above the tooth roots and the best way to fix it was having the tooth removed. It wasn't an easy extraction ( they never are with me due to very long roots). I had an extra tooth put on my partial plate and it was put in immediately after the extraction, I took it out a few hours after. Now the actual extraction site is doing well, swelling almost gone and healing well but I have severe pain in my jaw, all the way along my bottom teeth. Can u please tell me what is causing this. It seems odd that it was a top front tooth that was removed and the worst pain is in the lower tooth. I was given antibiotics afterwards which i have been taking religiously. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Does not seems related to extraction.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in your lower teeth. Does not seems related to your upper tooth extraction..

I would like to know a few more details so that I can guide you better..
1.Do you have any decayed/ discoloured tooth in lower jaw?
2.Is the pain confined to a single tooth or in multiple teeth?
3.Is the pain always present or occurs intermittently?
4.Is there any swelling in gums or outside on face?
5.Did the pain started immediately after extraction of recently?

The pain seems to be worse in the tooth directly below the extraction site but can go right along the right side to my jaw. I have no other cavities or problems with these teeth. The pain is constant until I take pain relief and comes back as soon as it wears off. I have minor swelling on the right side of my face. This pain started three days post extraction. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Needs x ray..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome back..

As per your answer, it seems that there can either be any deep seated decay that is not visible apparently or fracture in tooth or probably nerve related injuries..

To confirm you need to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and he can do an x ray of the right side of the jaw to check out for the cause of pain and then only a proper treatment can be advised as treatment vary with the cause..

As of now take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and do cool compresses over the swelling..
Take soft diet..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
