Suggest Treatment For Sensitivity And Redness On Penis After Masturbation

default
Posted on Thu, 13 Nov 2014
Question: Hello Dr. About a week ago after masturbation, I noticed that the right side of my penis head as well as a small area underneath was sensitive and red. I dismissed it due to possible over use and friction. Since then, the shaft redness has gone away, but a shallow water type blister about 9 mm diameter with a slight red outline has formed on the right side of the head and is becoming more sensitive. At first, I thought is was tight underwear irritating it further since my penis tends to lay to the left. Now I am getting concerned. No discharge, odors, fluids, etc. Just a discoloration and noted slight separation of skin (like I said, a shallow blister)

Brief Answer:
overuse and friction

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
I have seen your attachments.
The blister is secondary to the trauma suffered during masturbation. The blister is in the natural course of healing secondary to increased friction and shall settle down by itself over next few days. The blister shall be replaced by new skin and everything shall return back to normal.

Sincerely

Rajiv goel

Dr. Goel, thank you for your prompts reply to my issue. I have a follow up question. The reason I have become concerned is that 1 month ago I had PROTECTED sex with a woman other than my normal partner. There was no oral sex or intercourse without a condom (my gentials NEVER had direct contact with her mouth or vagina). But when looking up possible reasons for the blister all I see on the internet is scary STD information which causes paranoia on my part. My question is: In your experience as a Dr., does this look like an STD or penial yeast infection? I didnt think a blister would take this long to heal. Like I said previously, I notice redness and sensitivity about 1 hour after masturbating 9 days ago. No burning with urination or antiseptic wash or alcohol, dicharge, odors, fluids, bleeding, etc. Just local sensitivity to the affected area throughout the day.

Thank you again for you time.

Brief Answer:
Blister

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

I have reviewed your history and this lesion appears to be because of over friction rather than STD. Healing for normal abrasions is quick and heals with appearance of dark colored skin. However, when blister gets formed the healing get slowed down and the healing is with appearance of fresh, lighter in color skin.

Stop worrying and stay reassured. you shall see marked improvement by the end of this week.

Take care

Sincerely

Rajiv goel
