Suggest Treatment For Sensitive Sensation In The Teeth

Question: One of my teeth in lower jaw is having sensation during drinking water or washing my mouth. basically when it comes in contact with water. What should I do to take care of this, please advise.

This is Dr. Priyanka Tiwari answering your query.

Read your query as your one tooth in lower jaw has senstivity to water see XXXX what happened is senstivity occurs when outermost layer of tooth that is called as Enamel is Abraded and Exposure of second layer of tooth that is DENTIN . This exposure of dentin can be due to some reason which include :
- Improper brushing technique (vigrous brushing) result in Enamel Abrasion.
-use of hard bristle toothbrush .
- Carious tooth (proximal caries or root caries) .

For this I will suggest you to consult oral surgeon for clinical examination and investigation Iopa xray of teeth to get proper diagnosis and treatment (restoration) of tooth done.

Inmeantime I recommend you to care of your teeth by -
- Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing twice daily .
- Always use soft bristle toothbrush .
- use senstivity toothpaste like Sensodyne or Colgate total pro relief for senstivity .
- Use interdental waxed floss to clean interdental areas of teeth .
- Use chlorhexidine mouthwash regularly .
-Do warm saline rinses 2 to 3 times a day .
