Suggest Treatment For Sensitive And Mild Pain Of Hip After A Fall

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Jun 2014
Question: I have a problem with my hip. I had a bad fall but this was end january while running on the road. I fell on my left hip. After a week i started todo my regular fitness again and running and also tennis. At first it looked like an internal blood clot and was all red so i applied ice for the whole week. Later i just let it be and hope it heeled naturally. But the discoloration in the area still stayed at first i thought it was a rash but also had some pain so i feel that the blood clott is still there. But the pain is much better than january of course but still there and my left hip is sensitive and pains easily when i do sport. My house doctor suggested to apply lioton 1000 gel so i apply once a day but just started yesterday: and am not sure if i should use a hot pack or a cold pack on it. The thing is i dont even know if it is serious enough to have the blood clott removed by a needle or should i continue to use this gel for few days. I can upload the picture of when it happened how it looked in XXXXXXX and the current one as well. The first picture is the current one ans the second picture is of how it looked in january. One thing for you to note that how it looks today has been the same look for more than a month. It hasnt been improving itself more. What do you recommend is this lioton 1000 gel which is heparinum good enough? Should i use hot cold pack or do something else ?

Brief Answer:
Not a serious injury but gets blood test done

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through your suffering carefully, the best part is you are able to do all sort of physical activities like playing tennis and your pain is reducing day by day. For sensitive and mild pain at hip you may take balanced diet rich in calcium (1000mg/day) and vitamin D (1000 i.u. /day) along with vitaminB12, B6.

This blood clot is not serious and cannot be removed by syringe as they are not in a liquid form. You may continue with hot fomentation, lioton 1000 gel along with vitamin C tablet like limcee twice daily.
Having said that it is uncommon for a post traumatic bruise to last so long that is 4 months. What I suspect being a sport player this could be a fresh injury without significant trauma. You may get following blood test done-
Bleeding time, clotting time, Prothrombin time.

I hope this information will be helpful and I shall be glad to answer further.
Take care

Thank you for your reply. I have another question about which blood tests i need i live in switzerland is it possible to write the technical terms down. Also with regards to your comment that 4 months is abnormal and i do agree that the area could be aggravated by sports, but somehow the color of the skin is still staying dark and not better. Do you recommend any oral medication that also moght help. Also for this lioton 1000 gel how long should i massage it for ?

Brief Answer:
Drug Rutin, bromelain along with arnica helps

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It’s good to see you
You may get following blood test done - Bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time to assess the clot formation capacity in response to bleeding anywhere in body. You may talk about these tests with the Pathologist.
I do not think you need the oral anticoagulant therapy because it has its own side effect. You may do gentle massage with lioton 1000 gel at least 2-3 times a day.
My suggestion for you would be following-
1. You may take Tablet.Inflago (trypsin, bromelain, rutin) to be taken on empty stomach half hour before meal. This is proteolytic and helps in bruise resorption. You may talk to your doctor regarding this.
2. Herbal products like arnica helps in bruise resorption.Vitamin C and vitamin K may be helpful in those with easy bruising if they are not ingesting enough of this vitamin. Citrus bioflavonoid found in the white pulp of oranges, lemons, and other fruits could be helpful for some individuals.

Hope this helps
Take care
