Posted on Fri, 13 Nov 2015
Question: I am suffering from scrotal dermatitis with secondary bacterial infection. I had consulted two doctors in the past one of whom was from this website. Treatment of both the doctors helped me cure it for couple of months ,but then again it started. The scrotal walls getting itchy and smelly. The inner thigh skin which gets in contact with the scrotum turned dark and itchy. Please help me out here. I can't even sleep with peace because of this itch and swelling. And due to me scratching the itchy areas there are lesions in the area.

Brief Answer:
Fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
You have developed fungal infection of groin.
Recurrence is a well known problem with fungal infections.
I treat such cases with a combination of oral and topical antifungal medication.
A combination of oral fluconazole and topical Clotrimazole works well.
You can try this in consultation with your doctor.
You must wash your undergarments in hot water and dry them in sunlight daily.
This should prevent recurrence.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
