Suggest Treatment For Sciatica

Question: Hi, I am a 64 year old woman with a history of sciatica. It has been under control. About a week back, I had severe shooting pain along my left leg starting from my buttock upto my calf. My doctor prescribed combiflam for 3 days (1 tablet thrice a day), and neugaba for a month. Combiflam gave me some temporary relief, but now it is 5 days, and the pain is still there. Can I go on taking combiflam till the pain subsides? I am travelling out of town for a few days and am dreading sitting on the plane for 3 hours, as sitting is the most painful. Would be grateful for your advice.

Brief Answer:
you can not take combiflam for longer duration.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
There is possibility of nerve compression leading to persistent pain.
you can not take combiflam for longer duration.
It has its own side effects with out healing disease process.
I will advise to further investigate like MRI spine or x ray.
As you are travelling you can take combiflam for couple of days more.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and Tens may give you relief.
continue other medicine.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
