Suggest treatment for sarcoidosis in the lungs

Question: I just went to an ENT specialist because dripping has been exacerbating my Sarcoidosis in the lungs. I would like to take care of it once and for all. I have tried Saline washes, XXXXXXX pots etc... and medications dont work either. Anyway, the specialist said I have healthy throat, ears, and healthy mucus in the nasal passages. He mentioned though that my septum is slightly deviated. He thought a 3% saline is gonna solve my runniness. My thinking is that Sarcoidosis in my lungs is life threatening and if they can stop the drip with Rhinoplasy or cauterizing the sinuses, they should do it. What do you think? Should I get a second opinion? I did pick up a new nasal rinse I like (alkalol), but would rather get a permanent solution on the drip.

Brief Answer:
Please ask your doctor for a ct scan

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Since your doctor is saying that your ear nose and throat are clear and still you are having the feeling of a drip I suggest that you discuss about performing a CT scan of your sinuses. The scan will help us figure out if the sinuses are involved and to what extent. This will be an useful tests before planning any surgery.

Many times , the examination of the nose be normal and a ct scan will tell us he true picture of what is going on in the sinuses.

You can by all means take a second opinion.

I will also recommend that you follow your doctors advice and do your nasal irrigation with 3% saline as it has shown to be very useful in resistant cases of sinusitis.

Take care

Thank you very much. I was wondering if you have knowledge about this product. Alkalol. It seems to work better than saline. I have been using both. I just want to make sure that Alkalol has no long term effects. http://www.alkalolcompany.com/

Brief Answer:
yes can use it!

Detailed Answer:
Hello

although i do not have any personal experience in using alkalol and have never prescribed it to any of my patients but i have gone through the website and it does look pretty harmless , hence i think you can use it for your sinuses.

I will still recommend that you try the saline nasal irrigation also.

Thanks
