Suggest Treatment For Restless Due To Anxiety

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Mar 2015
Question: I have been under a lot of stress lately but I have had a weekend of what should have been rest and relaxation. I can’t stop moving. I lie down or sit down and I can’t stop my body from moving in one way or another. I’m either moving my legs, feet, arms, hands or just squirming in one way or another. My body just can’t relax. I took a muscle relaxer and it made me sleep but as soon as I awake the movements start again. My day is beginning again today and I’m so tired. Do you have any ideas of what I could do? C

Brief Answer:
escitalopram or sertraline will help

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I think that you have lot of anxiety from past one to two weeks. This anxiety is making your body restless and difficult to settle. The fact that a muscle relaxant (which was actually not a correct choice for this problem) helped was coz of its sedating /calming/relaxing effects.

You should take some anti anxiety medicine like escitalopram or sertraline daily and add etizolam 0.5mg on SOS basis.

Please discuss this with your family doctor and start them. They are safe and will help you a lot. They will aslo take care of the stress coping and help you manage your grand daughter in better way. Dont worry.

P.S. try to cut tea/ coffee and other drinks. Take more fruits, sprouts and salads. Walnuts are very good in this.

Good luck.
Please ask more questions for clarification.

Thank you very much. I will talk to my doctor at my next appointment. I'm happy to say I have found a good phychologist for my grand daughter. It seem she has stopped the thing we discussed in my last note, even before I found the phycologist I think. I just know all the stress has me so messed up that I can't even relax when I have the chance. Thank you for your timely advice.
