Need details

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Need details about current throat infection.
Since when are you having throat pain? Do you have redness and swelling in throat?
Do you have cold, cough?
Do you get cold often?
Have you ever checked streptococcal throat infection test?
Are you taking any medication currently?
when did you diagnosed that yo have tonsils problems?

If you are having recurrent tonsillitis then you need to go foe surgery.

Kindly get back to with details.
Thank you.

- yes, cough start - which is follwed by cold,
- I do get cold often
- No, I havent done any test, but have gone to an ENT specialist about 1.5 years ago. He confirmed that it is due to tonsils & gave me an Oral rinse (Tantum),

Brief Answer:
Moslty tonsillitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for your detailed information.

According to your symptoms it mostly due to inflammation of tonsils.

I suggest you levocetrizine 5 mg once a day before bed.
Steam inhalation twice a day.
Try to avoid exposure to cold weather and avoid eating cold food.
For tonsil inflammation I suggest you Azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 3 days.
Salt water or betadine gargles twice a day.

If you are getting recurrent infection then you better go for Tonsillectomy surgery.
I also suggest you get throat swab test done to rule out strepto throat infection

If you have any queries I will be happy
to help you.
Thank you.

Hi doctor,
Just to update you, I am feeling much better now - the swelling is almost gone.
Though bitter, but I guess 'betadine gargles' are helping.

Thanks again!
