Suggest Treatment For Red Spots On The Buttocks And Legs

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Jun 2017
Question: A few months ago I developed large red spots on the buttocks and legs which I was treated for psoriasis and the cream never worked. it was called triamcinolone acetonide. Then on May 11th I got pretty sick with extremely sore throat, swollen and sore lymph nodes in neck, chills and sweats and fatigue. May 12th we went to Florida and by may 15th I was itching all over and then by may 20th I had developed a different rash all over my body with Intense itching. I seen an immediate care Dr on May 22nd and he treated me for hives, gave me steroids, benadryl and 2.5% hydrocortisone. I'm not out of all the meds and nothing has helped. I'm still itching sebwrly and broke out worse. As well as bruising. what could this be, is it eben hives? in sending pics of both different rashes I've broke out in. thank you

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I would insist you to upload an image of the affected areas. It will help me to evaluate the possible causes. It could well be hives and I would possibly be able to tell after having a look. Unfortunately I cannot find an image attached with this query.

I will await your response. Let me know if I could help further.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Hypersensitivity seems to be the cause

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have checked the attached images. It does not look like psoriasis. Rather, it is a form of hives but is possibly immune mediated (a form of hypersensitivity where immune complexes get deposited). I would insist you for the following:
* Get blood IgE level tested.
* Get blood allergy profile done. Based on the reports approach an allergy center and they would undertake suitable desensitization therapy which would provide relief.
* Take Montair LC (monteleukast + levocetirizine) [prescription medicine] once daily.

Hopefully it would help.
