Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
Such asymptomatic red colored rash on ankle may be due to number of reasons like
1) Eczematous
2) Allergic
3) Pigmented Purpuric Dermatosis
4) Statis dermatitis

The treatment of the rash would depend on the diagnosis. I would like to know following details -
1 ) For how long it is there?
2) Is it unilateral or bilateral?
3) Are you diabetic or hypertensive ?
4) Any medications?

Kindly reply to above mentioned questions and upload images of the rash so that I can help you to my best.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Pigmented Purpuric Dermatosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome back. As per details, it is most likely due to a condition called as Pigmented Purpuric Dermatosis . It is characterised by splotchy hyperpigmented or red colored rash over lower legs specially concentrated over ankles usually on both legs. It is basically due to venous pooling as a result of long time sitting or standing position. The condition is mostly asymptomatic or may be associated with mild itch.
In such cases, I prefer to advise topical steroid like mometasone over the rash. You should use pillow below your legs while lying down. Raise your legs inclined on the wall for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times a day.
This would trigger the upward flow of blood in the vessels.
It would have been better if you could attach photographs of the rash.
You should visit your doctor so that he can examine you clinically and give you prescription. You can share my opinion with him.
I hope it helps. Take care.
