Question: My grandson's face is a little red, he's a bit warm and itchy skin and rash on chest. He lives in a different city, his mom has called doctor for an examination. What could it be, he is 21/2 years old

Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

Most often rashes in children are due to some viral infection. It us likely that your grandson has one such infection. A clinical examination would be needed to confirm the possible causal organism. However since he is otherwise active and fine you need not be concerned. Giving him some antiallergic like cetirizine and applying some emollient like calamine lotion should provide relief.
