Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps On Face And Swelling Around Eyes

Posted on Thu, 23 Jul 2015
Question: 48hrs ago, while i was having lobster, i rubbed my eyes with unwashed hands out of some mild uncomfort or itchiness. It then grew worse and worse over the night and the day after. The mild uncomfort grew into some red bumps, and then grew into a stretch of it all over my face, especially seen on the skin around my eye orbits. (I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my rubbing eyes) Also seen on the nose bridge, on the sides along the nose, and the forehead. The bumps on the skinfolds of my eyelids make my eyes look swollen as if i just cried, and also give it a sensation of burden when i keep my eyes open.

Since i was traveling over the past 48hrs, it was left untreated until now. The condition has been observed worse, in the size of area, the redness of bumps, and the severity of itchiness. I only took a Lorine tablet some 10hrs ago, but it doesnt seem to subside even a little bit. Also becoz of the rubbing, my eyelids skin is a bit weeping with a burning sensation.

I'm wondering is it an infection of fungi, moulds or bacteria? Or an allergy to the lobster( I had lobster a lot of times before, even from the same restaurant. But never got this)? Or becoz of my rubbing eyes with unwashed hands?

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
It is looking like allergic reaction.
I treat such cases with a single dose of steroid prednisolone and topical cortisone cream for 5 days.
This gives good relief within 5 days.
Take an antihistamine to relieve itch.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

I've been applying the fucicort for two full days and one night. The itchiness and redness are subsiding, but the skin around my eye orbits still looks visibly unsmooth, not bumps, but rough surface(I always have very smooth skin). So how many times a day and how many days in total should i apply this fucicort? Or is there any other cream to recommend? Would it go off finally and in how long?
