Suggest Treatment For Recurring Rashes On The Body

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Mar 2017
Question: These rashes appear once in a while. They disappear after a few days. And then reappear.
Not sure if due to some allergies or heat. But this problem is from many years.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be eczema

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be eczema.
It seems to be endogenous eczema which occurs due to internal sensitivity of the individual.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream on the affected areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching for 2-3 weeks.
To avoid its recurrence keep your body moisturised by frequent and liberal application of a moisturizing lotion like cetaphil moisturizing lotion on the entire body twice daily, avoid harsh soaps for bathing, take bath with lukewarm water instead of hot water, avoid direct contact of woollen clothes and stay away from dust.
These measures will reduce its occurrence as well as severity.
