Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

I can well understand your concerns and I shall try to address them at my best but its just that I need to know a few details beforehand:

1)What are the types of seizures, your daughter is having?Generalised tonic-clonic seizures, partial seizures, absence or myoclonic jerks? If you don't know the details of each of them, then it's not a cause of worry and you can just tell me what all happens to her during a fit?--turning of neck, jerky movements of limbs, clinching of teeth---like that.

2)Did she undergo a brain MRI?If yes, please upload it's scanned .jpg report? Was there anything abnormal?
3)Did she undergo an EEG?If yes, what did it mention?
4)Any other medical history for her?Was birth and milestones history normal for her?

I shall be looking forward to your follow-up query with details so that I can answer this well.

Brief Answer:
How is the seizure control on Levipil?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

I hope you are tensed because her seizures are not getting controlled completely and she still continues to have seizures with the frequency of almost 1 per month.

At this point, its important for me to know that how has Levipil played in her seizure control?Has it reduced the seizure frequency significantly?Initially,it would have been in the dose of 500 mg BD and then probably made to 750 mg BD-so then, did the dose increase helped reduce the seizure frequency?

Further, what is the body weight of the girl?It is important in considering a further increase in the dose of Levipil. Is she regular on her antiepileptic medicines?

I shall be looking forward to your follow-up query with further details.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,

Brief Answer:
Dose of Levipil can be increased for now.Is she regular on Levipil?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

It's important here, whether she is strictly adhering to the medicines?Does she takes them regularly?

If yes, then for now-dose of Levipil can be increased still further. It can be made to 1000 mg twice a day. With increased dosage of Levipil, one should remain vigilant about any behaviour or mood related changes(They may be observed in some patients on Levipil).

If however, seizures don't get controlled even on 1000 mg BD,then we will have to add on another antiepileptic and look for the response.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Regards

Brief Answer:
For now, only increase the dose of Levipil.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Meanwhile, the dose of Levipil should be increased to 1000 mg BD.If seizures continue to occur even on this, only then, an add-on medication will be started. Please upload her MRI scan and EEG's report so that I can form an opinion on the choice of add-on medication,if needed anytime.
