Question: Hi! I have Hashimotos Hypothyroidism and this past year I have developed horrible itchy hives. They go in streaks on my arms, stomach, backside, neck, etc. Tonight I have taken two Benadryl, a Montelukast 10 mg, and rubbed cortizone 10 cream where it itches and I am still not feeling any relief. What should I do? Thank you so much for helping me!!! XXXXXXX
I also forgot to mention that my allergist wants me to try allergy shots however I have to be two weeks symptom free - but I can't seem to get two weeks symptom free.

Brief Answer:
Try Fexofenadine, eliminate other medications and use a face mask.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I suggest that you try Fexofenadine in combination with Montelukast. These two drugs are given in combination and work wonderfully together. I suggest that you
analyze the medications that you may be taking for other illnesses, as your allergy may be caused by them. You might want to wear a mask while these 2 weeks pass by, face masks can be very useful in warding off allergens.

Please try these suggestions because they will help you.

Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
