Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Itchy Allergy On The Back
Question: hi.. I have an allergy on my back... where there is a constant itchy feeling. it has discoloured to a slightly blackish skin tone. this has been there for a few yrs on consultation the doctor had prescribed a cream but it did not seem to help. please can you let me know why this happens and what medication or ointment I can use. I have noticed this happens during cold weather or in ac environment where I do sweat but not like in summers

I've gone through the information you have provided carefully and examined the lesion in detail thanks to the picture you have uploaded.
I really would like to know which cream your doctor recommended a few years ago, that would help me avoid recommending a similar treatment.
For the time being though, it seems like this darkening (hyperpigmentation) of the skin may be due to contact dermatitis (your skin being in contact with something that it is allergic to) or sun exposure or an allergy.
I would strongly suggest you get it examined in person by a Dermatologist for definitive treatment, but if you don't want to do that, you can try and apply Mometasone Furoate to the area for about 1 week to see if it will help. Mometasone is a steroid and it should reduce the thickening and inflammation here and reverse some of the discoloration. These creams are generally Prescription medications and I can't give you one of those online.. so again, I would strongly suggest a trip to the doctor / dermatologist.
