Brief Answer:
Please follow instructions mentioned below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
It is uncommon for a man at your age to get repeated urinary infections.

I suggest you get investigated in detail and take complete treatment for your condition.
It is essential to get urine culture and sensitivity test done using midstream sample of urine. This will point out the bacteria causing the infection. It will also be known which antibiotics work the best and you can take only that antibiotic after discussing with your doctor. Please take complete course of antibiotics.

Once you are done with antibiotics, please get repeat urine culture and sensitivity test done. This will show any persistent infection and if further microbiological tests are required.

You must drink adequate amounts of water about 2 to 3 liters each day. This will flush out any bacterial in your system. Please pass urine regularly and do not hold your bladder for long durations.

If you still have urine infection then a search for atypical bacteria resistant to common antibiotics must be made. The urologist might advise you tests like cystoscopy and micturation cystourography to know if there is any bladder obstruction. Should it be there then the proper treatment must be taken.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
