Brief Answer:
will guide you

Detailed Answer:
Hai,
Sorry for the delay.

First of all, I need to tell you your son is normal. no need to worry about long term and short term complication and manifestation as you worried for.

As every child gets cold and cough in their school going age. As getting cold every month is a point to discuss. Don’t use antibiotics and other associated medication for every episode. Sometimes it may be viral. Viral cold may persist for 7 to 10 days. And it will settle down on its own. Symptomatic medication is advised..Usage of medication should be monitored.whatever system of medicine diagnosis and proper medication should be followed.

In ayurveda we got good remedies against cold and cough.

In ayurvedic medicine gorochanadi XXXXXXX rasandi vati, dasamoola aristam will be helpful in cold and cough. Septilin will be given as a prophalytic medicine. In severe type we need other choice of medication.
However, you can take a consultation with an ayurvedic physician to assess your son and the complaint of cold and cough . Good choice of internal medication like kathuri XXXXXXX gudichi capsules will improve the immunity.

As I advise your son to join yoga and pranayama class so that his immunity will improve well. Has pranayama(breathing exercise) shows good results in improving resistances against infections.

As your son should train in taking all kind of fruits and vegetables in daily basis. So that constipation, loose stool problem may be controlled.

stomach ache should be monitored if it persist prolonged.

Hope i answered your query, get back to me if there any clarification.

Dr.S.Senthilnathan

Brief Answer:
clarified your doubts below

Detailed Answer:

Hai,

A) Septilin ( Himalaya) ..
pl let me know whether its safe because it contains also ingredients like methylparaben IP ?
As of my experience septilin is safe to use. I didn’t observed any adverse event.
You can start giving to your child. methylparaben is a preservative.

B) Chatushashthi Prahari Pipali
It is also good choice of medicine for respiratory problems.

2. Pl also let me know Can we start the medicines as prescribed by you to improve the immunity & body defence mechanism ?

Chyavanaprasam is a good choice of medicine to improve immunity. You can start as a prophylaxis.
The earlier quoted medicine (kasthuri XXXXXXX gudichi capsules) are good choice. however,For easy consumption for children Chyavanaprasam is best. Chyavanaprasam 5g with milk after food.

3. Medicines like gorochanadi XXXXXXX rasandi vati, dasamoola aristam as prescribed by you can also be taken along with above medicines ? if so dose & no. of days ?

At present no need for above mentioned medicine. Too many medicine is not good. Provide nutritive food which help in improving immunity along with chyavanaprasam.

4. My son's tendency to vomit if medicine is bitter ?

Use honey as an adjuvant.

5. Any restriction in vegetable ,fruits during Ayurvedic medication ?

No restriction. If your child gets cold and cough prefer steamed and easily digestible food. Avoid biscuits, bread, fatty foods, cold water from refrigerator etc.
use warm water.

6. Whether nebulization can be given for relief if cold n cough increase during change in weather & or whenever he suffers ?
If your child gets cough apply karpurathi tailam on the chest both side and gentle rub and massage for 5 minutes . this procedure will give the same effect of nebulization.

Hope I answered your query.kindly get back to me if there any query.
